Thank you so much for coming to our Kindergarten Dinosaur Exhibit on Friday. The children were so very excited to share their projects and work. I hope you enjoyed visiting our classroom as much as we enjoyed having you! :)
This week we will be spending time learning about ways to help protect our earth. We will read about reducing, reusing, and recycling in honor of Earth Day. Throughout the week, our school will be encouraging Litterless Lunches. It can be quite tricky, but see what types of choices you can make to reduce producing trash each day. We will talk about some ideas throughout the week. We are also taking care of some small plants that will be placed in our garden. The children are in charge of keeping these plants alive. I often fail at this endeavor, but the children will keep me on track! :)
This week we will also get back into the swing of our Daily Five Literacy rotations and our new Writing Unit on persuasive/opinion writing. Get ready ~ your children will be learning all about the power of persuasion and why backing up an idea with many different 'reasons' is important! Don't be surprised if they begin trying to 'persuade' you to get a new pet or to paint their room a different color soon! We will work on this new writing unit throughout April and May.
I am looking forward to another great week in kindergarten!
Sincerely,
Eileen Browne
